Having worked with Ian for the past year I have come to appreciate his solid and calm approach to any problem that has been thrown his way, and there were many problems to solve. Ian has shown a willingness and ability to learn the actual business and technical requirements, and has applied innovation and ingenuity to every deliverable that he has produced.

Ian was the catalyst needed on a somewhat stalled technology project migrating legacy data analytics systems to Microsoft Power BI. A largely manual initiative was calmly transformed to a solid body of work with the help of his technical approach. Ian’s willingness to listen and learn provided a stabilized working environment for both the business area users and developers. He was an integral part of implementing work loss prevention, source control and integration development and testing by researching and implementing tools and solutions that applied automation techniques. These automation techniques streamlined manual tasks that would have overwhelmed the project. This contribution was a large part why the project was able to deliver solutions to the client quickly and accurately.

Ian was able to demonstrate how the complex data could be accurately reported. Using built in PBI techniques and third party tools he was able to quickly deliver multi-language reports to the business area to open a world of analytic possibilities that were difficult to envision. Ian participated in video capture of training materials and offered guidance to the business area on rollout and solution uptake.

It was a pleasure to work with Ian. He was readily available at every turn, progressive in his thinking and approach while respecting the thoughts and feelings of those around him. These traits led to a positive working environment that was filled with successes.
